LHS Introduces Career Chats for Students
Friday, February 3, 2017
“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
It’s a common question posed to children throughout their lives, but when students get to high school the answer takes on a little more meaning.
To help Liverpool High School students prepare for the world outside the classroom, the LHS Counseling Department and Administrative Intern Maura White recently launched a series of talks called LHS Career Chats.
Jackie Terribile, The Small Town Stylist, was the series’ most recent guest speaker. Terribile spoke with students about starting her career in the fashion and marketing industry while living in New York City. She also shared how she ended up starting her own business in Central New York.
As The Small Town Stylist, Terribile offers everyday clients in-person style consultations, personal shopping opportunities and wardrobe evaluations. She also works with local businesses and organizations by serving as a commercial wardrobe stylist and assisting with brand promotion. Terribile often appears on News Channel 9’s Bridge Street to share her fashion expertise.
Other LHS Career Chats have included an emergency vet technician, an Air Force drone pilot and a cardiologist.
