Four LCSD Teachers to Participate in Corporate Challenge Championship
Tuesday, May 9, 2017
Each year, Liverpool Central School District employees participate in the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge alongside individuals from numerous Central New York companies and organizations.
But did you know that the Corporate Challenge has a championship race for some of its best runners, and that this year four teachers will represent the Liverpool Central School District during the race in Frankfurt, Germany?
Nate Perry Elementary sixth-grade teacher Andrew Dionne, Long Branch Elementary fourth-grade teacher Benjamin Ludovici, former Liverpool High School math teacher Ryan Poley and LHS business teacher Daniel Young will travel to Germany from June 11 to June 14. The four qualified for The Championship because they had the lowest cumulative time in the men’s category during the 2016 Corporate Challenge in Syracuse.
The three and a half mile race will take place on June 13, and will bring together the first-place men’s, women’s and mixed teams from each of the 13 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Series cities. A total of 156 participants representing 39 companies and seven countries will compete that day.
The four teachers will represent Liverpool wearing matching orange and blue uniforms. JP Morgan Chase is sponsoring the group’s trip to Germany.
“We are very excited,” Dionne said, noting that Liverpool is the only school district competing on the men’s side of The Championship. “It’s very surreal and hard to believe sometimes.”
