BOE to Fill Recent Vacancy During Annual Vote
Friday, May 11, 2018
At its May 7 meeting, the Liverpool Central School District Board of Education accepted the resignation of Board member Neil Fitzpatrick, who resigned after serving on the Board of Education for four years. Fitzpatrick’s term of office will expire on June 30, 2019.
Four candidates are running for three seats on the Liverpool Central School District Board of Education. The candidates receiving the three highest number of votes will be elected to three-year terms, effective July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021.
Because Fitzpatrick’s resignation took place one-week prior to the district’s annual Budget Vote and Board Election, the Board will fill this vacancy by appointment. The person to be appointed will be the individual who receives the fourth highest number of votes in the May 15 Board Election. The appointed person will serve a one-year term effective May 16, 2018 through June 30, 2019.
The annual Liverpool Central School District Budget Vote and Board of Education Election will take place on Tuesday, May 15, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Liverpool High School Gymnasium.
